Freethought Internet is thrilled to announce that we have opened an additional Point of Presence (PoP) at the 23,000 square foot, carbon neutral Synergy House datacentre on the Manchester Science Park with the first customers already live.
This expansion into a major UK internet hub provides our VPS, dedicated server, co-location and rack space customers with a geographically diverse alternative to our existing Maidenhead location, perfect for disaster recovery and business continuity.
As part of extending our redundant BGP network; AS41000 in to the Synergy House datacentre we have begun a network wide upgrade program to install new Juniper routers, increase core network capacity and introduce new transit providers. This forms a key part of our ongoing work to introduce a native, dual-stack IPv6 service across our entire network.
The carrier neutral Synergy House facility has at least N+1 redundancy on all critical power and cooling plant equipment such as UPS, generators and air-conditioning as well as supplying our racks with diverse A+B power feeds. The power and cooling infrastructure is complemented by inert gas fire suppression with early detection smoke alarms, 24x7 on-site security staff, CCTV and multiple layers of security doors with proximity card locks. The entire facility is run to ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 accredited quality management, environmental management and information security standards.
If you would like to know more about the services that we offer in Synergy House, then please don't hesitate to get in touch with us.
